Training Week 2/7
Ursa’s made it through her 7th Intermediate class yesterday and she’s doing pretty well. She even cooperated on “playing dead” – a major milestone for her because Her Furry Majesty does NOT do tricks! We’ve really got to work on her stay this coming week because that’s a big part of the final exam next week. She’ll down stay like nobody’s business but isn’t as reliable in her sit stay. Someone likes to get up the second she sees Mom coming back to release her! If she passes next week then we’ll start Advanced the week after and, fingers crossed, Miss Ursa will have her CGC by the end of February!!
The Newfs are just a few weeks behind Ursa so they had their second Intermediate class today. They worked on heeling and coming when called despite distractions. Sadie did beautifully on heel which was a bit of surprise because Tiny Newf tends to lag seriously behind on walks! She’s the very picture of “look what followed me home”! Fargo wasn’t quite as cooperative. Oinky Newf spends a little too much time trying to sneak out in front so he can keep his eyes on the treat bag! Looks like someone will need more practice – not fun when it’s freezing cold outside!
Both Newfs kicked small dog butt through the coming with distractions obstacle course! Good thing we brought the extra high value treats for that little exercise. I think our classmates were a bit surprised to find out that Fargo actually can run!
Fargo made us most proud when he conquered his fear and approached our classmate who is in a motorized wheelchair for some pets. That’s a major milestone for a him!

Ruthanna your triplets are awesome! Even her furry Majesty can do tricks now and I want to see it on video! Keep up the good work, give the kids all a big kiss and hug from Esther and Koda.
