It’s been Raining Again
Friday, March 27th, 2009Uh Oh, We’ve Got A Jumper
Thursday, March 19th, 2009The other evening we decided that Ruthanna would take Ursa out for a walk to help her dry off after getting a bath. She got Ursa on the other side of the extra tall babygate and was working on getting Ursa leash cliped on when all of a sudden Sadie, our littlest Newfoundland decided that she needed to go on the walk as well.
I was standing right by her when all of a sudden she gave a quick bark and then launched herself over the babygate catching it with her back feet, bringing the whole gate down with a huge crash.
Needless to say, Ruthanna and just looked at each other in disbelief! We then grabbed Sadie and brought her back into the kitchen area and put the gate back up.
Sadie pretty much calmed down and finally sat down…or so we thought. We clearly were wrong! She must have just been judging her trajector for a more optimum angle as she all of a sudden launched herself again only this time completely clearing the gate.
Now we know we have problems to come. How to keep a Newf gated if they can jump them? I guess we will find out and soon. I guess we might as well start looking into Agility classes for her.
Yea, Sunshine!
Monday, March 16th, 2009Oh man, has this past week and weekend been a pain in the rear! After 3 and a half days of rain and another day of cloudy, wet yuck, the sun finally came out.
Now normally I would have been doing a tap dance about the good fortune of having multiple days of rain and being able to turn off the automatic sprinkler systembut not now. With 5 bad weather days, over 2-1/2 inces of rain and three puppys, our back yard looks like a picture of disaster zone in a third world country that you would see on TV.
This picture doesn’t even begin to capture how bad the backyard really is right now. It’s amazing how the poop piles and torn up items can become hidden in a picture…even without editing.
Oh, and I won’t even go into how bad the house looks after having three pups go in and out in the rain for multiple days.
Thank goodness for both our sanity and the pups lives, the sun has come back out so they can get out and burn off some steam!
